Care Day 2026

Today on Care Day 2026 Niacro are proud to celebrate the strength & achievements of young people who are care-experienced. 

Niacro’s Independent Representation (IR) service sees us spend dedicated time with young people in Lakewood Secure Care Centre and our Independent Visitor (IV) service matches our trained volunteers with young people in the Belfast & Southern Health Trust areas who are care-experienced and may not have strong family support. Our aim is that every care-experienced young person feels seen, heard, supported and empowered.

One young person in our IV service has said:

“My volunteer helped me learn how to keep a friendship for a long period of time. This has been the longest relationship I have ever had.”
