Sam, Chief Executive of the Police Ombudsman's Office, has worked for 30 years in the criminal justice system. He was previously Chief Probation Officer for South Wales for seven years, and Principal inspector with Strathclyde Residential Care system for three.
Before taking up these posts, he worked in the probation and prison services in Northern Ireland.
