Executive member
I first became aware of the problems of young offenders while serving as a Lay Magistrate in the Youth and Family Courts, and afterwards on the Board of Visitors in the Maze Prison.
My other interest is in volunteering, as I was a founder member and volunteer in the CAB in Lisburn, and also set up the volunteer service in the NI Hospice. I understand the valuable contribution volunteers make, and the satisfaction that can be gained from volunteering. I was also involved in the Ulster Pregnancy Advisory Service for many years after raising my four children and giving up my job as a children's wear designer.
