Challenging Public Perceptions

NIACRO has unique experience in working as a voluntary organisation within the criminal justice system. We want to put that experience to use when public policy is being decided. So we respond to all the key consultations which public bodies, especially criminal justice bodies, undertake. We also meet regularly with senior policy-makers in the Prison Service, the Youth Justice Agency, the Probation Board, the Justice Oversight Commissioner; the Northern Ireland Office; the Housing Executive; the Department for Employment and Learning.

How are we doing?

We evaluate all our projects not only so that we can maintain the quality of our work but also to record and analyse what we have learned about the views, needs and priorities of our service users, our partners, and our funders.  All of this helps us design our own future services, and also helps us speak with authority on criminal justice matters.  You can download recent evaluations from the Publications section of this site.
